COMET Group and Bühler AG announce strategic partnership to develop new applications based on ebeam
The COMET Group and the Bühler technology group, based in Uzwil, Switzerland, will work together to develop new applications based on COMET’s compact ebeam technology.
Bühler, the Uzwil-based family-owned company, is a global, industrial solution provider for processing foods and for manufacturing advanced materials, contributing to food security and high energy efficiency.
COMET Group, the Flamatt based company, is a leading global provider of high-quality systems, components and services in x-ray, RF and ebeam technologies. The group developed the compact ebeam technology enabling manufacturers to create new materials, save energy, eliminate toxic chemicals while at the same time accelerating throughput.
Preliminary testing has been encouraging, in terms of technical results and proof of partnership. Accordingly, the two partners have decided to announce their collaboration aimed at exploiting ebeam technologies in the medium- and long-term.
“In COMET we have identified a highly professional and skilled partner, bringing deep expertise in their technology and an innovation spirit that is highly compatible with that of Bühler. We are encouraged by our first steps together and although we are at the nascence of our partnership we are excited by the possibilities ahead”, Ian Roberts, CTO Bühler.
“In Bühler, the COMET Group gains another strong partner – in addition to Tetra Pak – in the push to advance highly scalable industrial applications for ebeam and to develop new markets for our compact, efficient, and eco-improving technology”, notes Charles Flükiger, President of X-Ray & ebeam Technologies, COMET Group. “As market leaders in our respective core businesses, Bühler and the COMET Group are ideally equipped to succeed in bringing technological innovations to the world market.“
